November 1 What I did on my summer vacation

Getting ready for our 25th Fall Show.  Everything is going smoothly, Hurricane Sandy caused her havoc elsewhere so we are ready to do the final cleaning tomorrow.  For Memorial Day Pat and I drove to Maine to deliver a desk.  We had not been for a couple of years and were missing our friends who run the Pentagoet in Castine.  It is a wonderful B and B.  Great resturant and a fun pub called Passports.  We were in the pub awaiting dinner when we ran into Pete and his nephew Harry who invited us to sail from Castine to Brooklyn the next day.  About 45 miles.  Does it look like I am having a good time?  I hadn't had the wheel in my hand for a couple of years and no one asked if they could sail so I sailed the whole way.  Ok the wind was right on the nose and it was raining and we motor sail most of the time but it was a boat and I was having a great time.  We had sardines and baked beans for lunch.  So if you run into a guy named Pete in a bar in Maine who asks you to go sailing remember to bring lunch..

Then we had to find a ride back to Castine.  After much discussion we found someone to drive us back to Castine.  Then we went a stayed a couple of nights at friends in Blue Hill.  More good food.  Then back to work.

Welcome to the Kinloch Woodworking Blog

Welcome to our new blog.  Our intent is to share some really fun stories about custom furniture design and premium woodworking as we know it from the shop at the back of our showroom in Unionville, PA. We hope you enjoy our reflections as much as we have enjoyed the past 30 years!
This wonderful Federal Cabinet was made with Kinloch's Flame Crotch Mahogany. The top door opens to hold a 52" television.  Call for information regarding a similar commission.
